Swimwear for anywhere, and we DO mean anywhere

Popina Swimwear–Portland’s Bathing Suit Boutique and makers of the Made in Oregon Popina® Bathing Suit brand–and Mount Hood Meadows Ski Resort–Portland’s fun, innovative, sustainable world class ski resort–have joined forces to name Popina the “Official Swimwear of Mt. Hood Meadows.”  In true Portland style, two unlikely extremes have found commonality in their mutual customer bases. Both entities are in the business of helping people escape from the wet, dull Portland winter blues.

How did this odd partnership come about?

Popina® was initially introduced to Mt. Hood Meadows in 2009 at the ski resort’s end of season party. The party, put on by Kona Brewing Company and affectionately known as the “SnoKona Pond Skim”, included people skiing down a hill in costume and skimming over a 90 ft. long pond.  Seeking to bring a new twist to the event, Popina® was approached by Kona Brewing to supply swimwear for a pond-side swimwear fashion show.

“Over the last two years, Mt. Hood Meadows and Popina® have had a chance to consider the silly juxtaposition of our respective brands and decided it would be fun to deepen our relationship,” says Pamela Levenson, Popina  Owner/Designer.

Next up is Mt. Hood Meadows Spring Fling Boots ‘n Suits promotion. Every weekend in April, skiers who wear a swimsuit to Mt. Hood Meadows will receive a 20% off Popina coupon and be entered in a weekly drawing. Prizes include $250 in Gift Certificates from Popina and one weekly $50 in gift card from Mt. Hood Meadows.  One grand prize winner for the month will receive two VIP passes to the 6th annual Kona Pond Skim, Saturday, April 28th where Popina will present a swimwear fashion show. Further, Popina is offering special $59 lift tickets for Mt. Hood Meadows the month of April at both Popina swimwear boutiques. Hit the slopes in style – in swimwear.
